Scopes

Recognition of Egycert’s Equivalence under the Eu:
Egycert was duly recognized as an equivalent control body under Article 33(3) of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007, as implemented through Commission Regulation (EC) No 889/2008, and duly listed in Annex II of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2325. This recognition was valid until 31 December 2024, confirming EgyCert’s production standards and control measures as aligned with EU requirements.

Recognition of Egycert under the United Kingdom
EGYCERT confirms that, although its recognition under EU Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 expired on 31 December 2024, but it remains formally recognised by the United Kingdom’s Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to certify products to an equivalent Great Britain organic standard.
This recognition was granted under Article 12(1)(b) of Retained Regulation 1235/2008, in alignment with EU Regulations 834/2007 and 889/2008, and is valid until 30 September 2025 and Also, Egycert has reapplied and its recognition has been accepted and recognized until 31 December 2025. Accordingly, EGYCERT’s ongoing certification activities are according to its UK equivalence scope covering product categories, A and D across 16 countries which are: Egypt, China, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgzstan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates & Uzbekistan.

Also, Egycert provides KRAV and has verification agreement with KRAV ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION .

Also, Egycert delivers NOP, COR, JAS & Nature certification services via contractual arrangements with internationally accredited certification body.

Legal Status

EGYCERT is a private limited liability company, aiming to support the development of organic agriculture in Egypt. EGYCERT is formed according to the Egyptian law 95 for the year 1992. Operations start since August 2018. EGYCERT is a legal entity, which is not a part of any larger organization. The foundation of the company was indicated in the companies gazette which is produced by Ministry of Economy.

Quality Policy Statement

EGYCERT acts as a certification body with the aim to support the development of organic agriculture in Egypt. Certification will help producers and processors to produce organic products with a quality and conformity which guarantees an access and entrance to European and other international markets. To justify the confidence of the suppliers as well as the accreditation body, the following principles are applicable for all EGYCERT staff as well as clients: ( Nondiscriminatory approach, Impartiality and independence, Transparency and openness, Sense of responsibility, Clearness of the objectives, Experience and competence and Continual Development ).
